Job Description Summary

Performs general sleeping room deep clean duties as directed. Goes above and beyond to ensure that Graylyn sleeping rooms are cleaned thoroughly. This position will work full-time hours on shifts Sunday through Thursday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM and report to the Assistant Manager, Rooms Operations.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
  • Cleans sleeping rooms to include windows, bathrooms, upholstery, doors and glass, vacuuming, dusting, wiping down surfaces, emptying trash, and making beds.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that sleeping rooms are stocked with the correct number of amenities, supplies, towels, etc.
  • Mops floors.
  • Sweeps front and back entrances; keeps outside porches clear of leaves and debris.
  • Spot cleans carpet as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and any combination of duties described above.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to maintain effective customer relations.
  • Ability to read and understand safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow cleaning instructions and schedules.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Climbing, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
  • Visual acuity to determine neatness and thoroughness of work assignments.
  • Subject to both inside and outside activities.
Environmental Conditions:
  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
