The mission of VCU's Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) is to maximize philanthropic support by engaging stakeholders with our institution working in partnership with all VCU schools, programs and campuses as one development and alumni relations community and implementing the best practices and efficient strategies to achieve a comprehensive development program.

VCU's Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Donor Services Specialist in the Gifts & Records Management (GRM) department to temporarily cover a vacancy in drafting and administering the gift agreement process. A gift agreement is a signed document between VCU and a donor that outlines the responsibilities of both entities, including the amount, purpose, and payment period for a donation. The Donor Services Specialist will coordinate and collaborate in a consultative role across all VCU schools and campuses for gift agreement and acceptance matters.

In this role you will:
-Collaborate with colleges, schools and units to review and analyze requests to draft gift agreements or documentation outlining exceptions to current policy, ensuring that requests meet all state and federal regulations as well as university policy
-Utilize superb writing skills to draft, review and edit gift agreements
-Utilize project management knowledge in tracking and coordination of gift agreements as they move through the draft, review, approval and signature process
-Create, update and maintain DocuSign processes for various GRM functions, including but not limited to gift agreements and policy exceptions
-Assist in managing data as needed for the GRM team
-Performing other duties as assigned to contribute to the mission of the organization and priorities of the Philanthropic Services team.
-Provide a high level of proactive customer service internally to DAR and externally to all constituents and stakeholders including email and phone communication.

Required qualifications/skills:
-Paralegal certificate plus 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of closely related experience and education
-Prior experience in the following environments: legal, compliance or advancement operations
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills
-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
