Position Title: Communications Coordinator, Vice Provost for Student Success

Reports to: Manager of Strategic Communications, Vice Provost for Student Success

Grade/Classification: MR06/Hourly, full-time staff position

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position of Communications Coordinator, Vice Provost for Student Success.

Position Summary: This position reports to the Manager of Strategic Communications in the Division of Student Success (DSS). With direction from the Manager, the incumbent coordinates communications processes for internal and executive communication in the Division of Student Success and serves as the Division's main contact of DSS social media to communication representatives within DSS and throughout campus.

Position Responsibilities:

Visual Content Creation

· Design projects including creating visually compelling content for social media, developing organizational documents, providing PowerPoint support, and fulfilling other design needs to enhance the overall communication strategy.

· Fulfill ad-hoc design requests, including but not limited to brochures, posters, digital ads, and event materials.

· Adapt and modify existing design templates to meet specific project requirements while maintaining brand consistency.

Social Media Development and Management

· Developing social media strategies, building social media communities, as well as tracking, promoting, and covering Division of Student Success events on social media. Formulate written and visual content for DSS social media platforms. Run reports and conduct analysis of various social media platforms through content management system.

· Serve as the main contact of DSS social media to communication representatives within DSS and throughout campus.

Internal and Executive Communication

· In conjunction with the Manager for Strategic Communication, craft clear, concise, and impactful messages for internal and executive communication priorities within the Division of Student Success (DSS) and the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success (VPSS).

· Develop and draft executive-level communications, including memos, emails, speeches, and presentations for the VPSS leadership team.

· Create and manage internal communication channels, such as newsletters, intranet updates, and staff announcements, to keep the DSS team informed and engaged.


Qualifications :

Qualifications:

Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field

Experience

Required:

· Experience with creating and executing communications content.

Preferred:

· 2 years full-time experience in creating and executing communications content.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Required:

· Knowledge and skill using software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign as well as Canva.

· Knowledge of social media and experience developing social media strategies

· Experience creating social media content.

· Ability to recognize distinctive voice needed for multiple platforms.

· Knowledge of communication fundamentals and ability to translate them into specific projects.

· Ability to work collaboratively with others.

Preferred:

· Photography skills

Salary: $42,000 to $46,000 and accompanied by a university benefits package.
