Medical Data Scientist



University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Medical Data Scientist Lead for the Department of Otolaryngology. This position consists of major organizational accountabilities requiring the formulation of new approaches including advanced statistical, data analyses, causal relationship, and decision algorithm development. Incumbent will be required to - • Independently establish goals and objectives for higher level review with anesthesia and statistical faculty. • Work with clinical faculty to help formulate/strategize/execute clinical research projects. • Help clinical faculty with stat. methods for grant applications. • Perform administrative management duties for research project/s; provide leadership, expertise, and resolve complex issues. Oversee the research administration operations of study protocols and methods development, including documentation, implementation, algorithm development, and high-level and complex data analyses. • Create, facilitate and direct a complex scheduling scheme involving large numbers of research participants and active protocols. Monitor subject accrual through active protocols. • Develop, implement, maintain, and manage complex data management systems of multi-dimensional biological datasets, including defining and creating research databases, creating new data collection forms and tables for existing databases, creating data editing routines and export processes, and transferring export datasets to national repositories. • Coordinate research activities/projects with multiple laboratories. • Ensure staff adherence to developed protocols. • Provide data management support for researchers and other staff as needed. • Oversee data entry, report dissemination, data management procedures, and other project management staff oversight duties as directed.
