Visiting Scholar

The Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a Visiting Scholar to work in the research program directed by Dr. Qingde Wang. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working research scholar who is a highly self-motivated individual.

Job description: The incumbent will participate in NIH grant-supported research projects, including that of ADAR1-regulated innate immune pathways, neuroinflammation and autoimmune diseases, and therapeutic development of small molecule and gene therapeutic approaches. Knowledge and techniques in molecular, cellular, and animal studies are required.

Requirements: Candidates should possess an M.D./PhD degree. They should be able to independently do literature research, design, and conduct experiments carry out data analysis, and report the results. Candidates should also have an effective command of the English Language and evidence of effective writing and interpersonal skills. Experience in bioinformatics analysis is preferred but not required.
