Job Description

At the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) we are currently recruiting an exceptional individual with a passion for science and desire to seek excellence in a dynamic, stimulating environment. As a Quality Control Chemist II, you will perform GMP analytical testing on radiopharmaceuticals manufactured at MURR to release product for human use. A successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, comprehensive and creative problem-solving skills, and leadership skills/potential. This position will take part in the testing and release of GMP radiochemical products which will be used in pharmaceutical formulations for human patients. This position is part of an approved Career Progression Plan within the Quality Control Department. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include
  • Able to independently perform testing on multiple radiopharmaceutical batches manufactured on a weekly basis.
  • Reviews and revises testing and equipment procedures as needed. Performs equipment and procedure qualifications periodically.
  • Assists peers with method development and validation activities.
  • Contribute to the proper maintenance and organization of the laboratory, laboratory equipment, supplies, records, and samples.
  • Employ sound technical writing skills involving deviation reports, laboratory investigation reports, etc.
  • Identifies continuous improvement initiative ideas/projects.
  • Perform or assist with other Quality Unit assigned activities related to MURR facility responsibilities associated with FDA, NRC, and DOT regulations.
  • Detail oriented individual committed to high quality work and documentation.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00pm, some evening and weekend work

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within a lab
Two or more years of experience working
Educational background in Chemistry

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $55,000 per year

Grade: GGS-9E
