Job Description

TheDepartment of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicineis actively recruiting a passionate and dedicated Physician Assistant, Specialty Care -or- Nurse Practitioner, Specialty Care, to become an integral part of our dynamic and high-performing team. This role will collaborate closely with clinical faculty, as well as staff, to champion the overall culture and progress of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and the C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture). Together, we aim to cultivate a dynamic learning environment and foster continuous improvement, aligning with our mission.

Position Highlights

- Operate on a full-time basis from Monday to Friday.
- This position entails no on-call responsibilities or weekend hours.
- Partner closely with a dynamic team comprising more than 25 seasoned on-site Orthopaedic Surgeons and 9 accomplished on-site non-surgical Orthopaedic Physicians.

About the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine

Our Orthopaedic service talent teams encompass a diverse array of professionals, including Attending Physicians, Fellow/Resident Physicians, Extender Practitioners, Nurses, ATC/OTCs, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty, Research Technical Teams, and Students. Our clinicians operate in clinical locations spanning Columbia, Jefferson City, Boonville, Liberty, and Springfield. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued success of our department's mission: advancing the clinical, research, and teaching components of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri.

Our orthopaedic surgeons are devoted to caring for patients with all injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Our specialists advance medicine by discovering better treatments and training the next generation of physicians. We are a collaborator in the University of Missouri's Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics, exploring new methods to treat the most important musculoskeletal diseases and injuries.

Our department has experienced exceptional growth in recent years. MU is home to the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, a freestanding orthopaedic hospital. To meet growing patient needs, a $40 million, four-story expansion of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute was completed in 2017. The expansion has increased clinical space from approximately 114,000 to almost 200,000 square feet.

Shift

Typically, 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This position does not have call associated with it.

Minimum Qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

PA/NP Orthopaedic Surgery experience strongly preferred.

Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Orthopaedic Surgery preferred.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC).

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $90,251-$147,285
