Job Summary

The Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center (SCoBIRC) is seeking support for in vitro and in vivo experiments for research in

spinal cord injury and regenerative medicine. Working with animals will constitute a major responsibility of the position but will also

require detailed record keeping, maintaining laboratory inventories through ordering of tracking of supplies, assisting with the processing

and analysis of animal samples for experimentation, and performing wet lab molecular biology. This position involves performing

surgeries for traumatic spinal cord injury research on live animals (mice and rats) followed by twice/daily animal care, behavioral

assessments, euthanasia using IACUC and DLAR approved methods, as well as tissue processing. The successful applicant will be

expected to compile and analyze experimental data and to have strong English speaking and writing skills to record experimental

results, as well as be expected to continually progress towards independence.
