Required License/Registration/Certification

Licensure through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care and Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care at time of hire.

Physical Requirements

The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 25-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

This will be primarily a day shift, Monday – Friday

Job Summary

Functions as a team member in providing comprehensive therapeutic care as part of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Primary focus is to assess and instruct patients in self-management skills, progress exercise in a safe manner and monitor patient's tolerance, identify appropriate oxygen devices and titrate oxygen to maintain oxygen saturation per protocol or physician plan of car, and participate in development of individualized treatment plans (ITPs). Serves as a resource for other pulmonary rehabilitation team members regarding respiratory care techniques. Provides maintenance of treatment areas, equipment and records. Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have patient care experience; strong computer skills; and excellent communication skills. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) will be required.

Hospital experience is preferred or ambulatory rehabilitation experience.
