Job Summary
The Department of Hispanic Studies (https://hs.as.uky.edu/) in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Elementary Language Instruction to begin August 1, 2024. The selected candidate will be appointed to a 9-month, non-tenure eligible faculty position for an initial two-year period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. The position involves teaching up to four classes per semester in addition to service and course coordination responsibilities within the department. Courses will primarily range from the 100- to 200-levels in the introductory and intermediate Spanish language sequence. We encourage candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching, expertise in instructional technology and inclusive pedagogies, and coordination of Spanish language curriculum. We seek candidates with experience attracting new students to the major and mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds, including heritage language learners. A Ph.D. in Spanish is required.
