Job Description Summary:
The role of the Manager, Fund Development is to initiate new partnerships and sell sponsorships throughout the Greater Kansas City area to help increase local fundraising efforts for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN). This position will drive results by managing all aspects of selling new local campaigns, sponsorships, and other innovative new business.
Work Modality: This position will have a hybrid work arrangement for residence in the KC metro area. Incumbent will work remotely and on campus based on a set departmental schedule.

Estimated work schedule: 30 hours per week

Job Description:

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field.

Work experience:
  • Experience with initiating leads, making sales/development calls, and providing prompt and appropriate follow-up.
  • Experience in sales and sales management.
  • Experience utilizing various MS Office and other software.
  • Previous experience speaking publicly and with prospective partners on behalf of an organization in a professional setting.


Preferred Qualifications
Skills:
  • Detail oriented, ability to prioritize and successfully coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the CMN team.
  • Familiarity with Greater Kansas City area to attend meeting throughout the area.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Solid track record in sales productivity


Essential Job Duties:
  • Serves as lead staff member responsible for securing new business sponsorships and partnerships throughout the Greater Kansas City area.
  • Prospect and sell new local retail fundraising campaigns in addition to sponsorships for Radiothon and Extra Life programs.
  • Prospect accounts, develop and sell corporate sponsorships to companies for the Radiothon and other events.
  • Drive results and increase fundraising.
  • Develop network, initiate new leads, and make cold calls to secure meetings with prospective new partners.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining new relationships of potential partners.
  • Implement and promote corporate sponsored events, serve on event planning committees (as necessary), present ideas and materials, and set goals in collaboration with sponsors and provide the support needed to ensure success.
  • Work independently and as a team to manage the development and maintenance of partners.
  • Position is work-from home with flexible hours and expected to attend all weekly staff meetings and other meetings, trainings, and events.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
