The Information Technology Department within the School of Business is seeking an Academic Technology Technician to provide support for programs located at the Graduate Business Learning Center in Hartford, with occasional travel to Storrs. This position will report to the GBLC Site manager. Evening and weekend hours will be required in support of classes and program activities. In-state travel to other University campuses may be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support for all programs running at the Graduate Business Learning Center
  • Assist in implementing, documenting, and supporting event technology related initiatives for the School of Business.
  • Provide remote support for distance learning classes and online events.
  • Assist in preparation and documentation of policies, training materials, and knowledge books.
  • Implement the delivery of A/V conferencing and teleconferencing services to BUSN classes and conference rooms.
  • Initiate repairs, modifications, updates, or other solutions to maintain uninterrupted classroom services.
  • Provide in-class support for students/instructors integrating mobile computing into the curriculum.
  • Provide escalated troubleshooting support for general IT related issues.
  • Provide staff training on procedures.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Associate degree in Technology, CS/MIS, or equivalent combination of education and/or training or two or more years of experience relevant to support of end user computers and technology.
  2. Demonstrated experience with desktop, mobile computers, interfaces, mobile devices, and related peripherals.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
  4. Willingness and ability to work evening and weekend hours, and to travel to other University campuses.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time temporary position with a schedule of 40 hours per week for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension dependent upon department needs and available funding. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
