Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College, located in Reno, NV, is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Adult Basic Education department. The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program offers four different services to our community, including the English language learner program, high school equivalency preparation, literacy, and college and career transition services. TMCC is able to offer Adult Basic Education classes at no charge with federal grant funds administered through the Nevada Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education. We are a proud partner of The American Job Center of Nevada.

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Student Services Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination and oversight for the student intake and completion processes of the program as well as the Integrated Education and Training (IET), Workplace ESL, and Pre-Apprenticeship Programs of the Adult Basic Education Program at TMCC . This is a grant funded position.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in adult education, educational administration, business or related field.

3. A combination of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, program management, grant management, education/training, marketing, sales, or business management.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in workforce development.

2. Experience working in or with WIOA Title II programs or similar programs.

3. Supervisory experience.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Research, plan, recruit, implement, oversee and evaluate 3-5 transition readiness classes or workshops per year.
2. Conduct employer outreach and partnerships to plan, implement, oversee and evaluate 3-5 workplace ESL classes per year.
3. Research, plan, recruit, implement, oversee and evaluate a minimum of 6 integrated education and training (IET) classes per year.
4. Research, plan, recruit, implement, oversee and evaluate 6-8 pre-apprenticeship classes per year.
5. Recruit students internally and in the community, interview and determine eligibility, goals and interests in programming and work with them on all aspects of preparing and participating in the program through to the successful completion of the program. Connect students to resources as needed. Ensure all testing requirements are met.
6. Develop curriculum, select textbooks, and determine other program needs as required for various workforce programs.
7. Hire, train, oversee, observe and evaluate instructors. Provide professional development opportunities for instructors.
8. Manage the day-to-day operations of student services including the supervision of staff, intake and registration processes, program orientation, student communications, and other student support initiatives.
9. Prepare annual budgets and class schedules for all workforce related programs.
10. Record and analyze data for all workforce related programs. Complete data entry tasks in program MIS and provide reports quarterly or as requested by college and grant leadership. Maintain accurate student records.
11. Conduct and oversee all aspects of quarterly student follow-up requirements to remain in compliance with grant.

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary: $54,912 - $68,640, initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience.
