Job Objective

 

 The Machining A Operator (Brake/Laser) is able to set up set up and run the laser machine or brake press as needed. The A Operator is responsible for following best safety practices, maintain quality standards, and plant schedules.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Review work schedule to make sure of what jobs are to be started or completed.

 

  1. Sets up and operates CNC Brake Press and Laser and related equipment and reviews specifications for the particular order to be run.

 

  1. Assists in training of department personnel in set-ups, operation, and procedures in department.

 

  1. Makes machine, tooling and program adjustments to equipment as necessary to facilitate production and quality standards.

 

  1. Periodically inspects part with blueprint specifications to assure proper dimensioning and quality standards.

 

  1. Maintains proper lubrication of equipment and cleans machines. 

 

  1. Correctly records daily production and keeps accurate time and job records.

 

  1. Notifies Process Engineer, Manufacturing Manager or Manufacturing Coordinator of any operating problems.

 

  1. Provides information to maintenance and the tool room to assist in diagnosing equipment or tooling problems.

 

  1. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition using 5S principles to minimize safety hazards and lost-time accidents.

 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

  1. This position supports the continual improvement and compliance of QMS and EMS.

 

  1. Maintains a good attendance record.

 

  1. Assists Process Engineering & Design Engineering with engineering samples and/or tool try-outs.

 

  1. Responsible to perform his or her job functions in a manner that supports TriMark's mission, vision and values in order for the company to attain its strategic and growth goals.

 

Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required

 

Considerable mechanical aptitude.

 

Skill in setting up, operating and adjusting CNC Brake Press, Laser and related equipment, which is learned on the job.

 

Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

 

Skill in using common hand tools and various types of measuring instruments; calipers, micrometers etc.

 

Ability to work cooperatively with other employees on a regular basis and give assistance to newer personnel.

 

Ability to work with manufacturing software and computer systems.

 

Ability to stay positive with a good attitude and values Trimark’s Core Values.

To perform all necessary setups.

 

To determine quality of parts run.

 

To determine cause of improper parts so adjustments can be made in a minimum of time.

 

To assure machine is receiving proper lubrication and maintenance.

 

To operate forklift and other machinery in a safe manner.

  • Understanding blueprints and measuring gages
    • Need to understand how to read blueprints and determine good or bad
    • Need to understand how to use correct measuring tools to gage parts such as calipers, gage pins or any other specialty gages needed to ensure part quality

Working Conditions

 

Must be available to work overtime and weekends as required to meet the company’s business demands.

 

Exposure to hazards of machine operation and some contact with oils, lubricants, coolant and with occasional oil fumes in the area.  Noise levels are between 90-95.  The work area is dry and temperatures are controlled.

 

Uniform safety practices consist of safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other devices as required.  This area requires normal or corrected vision, normal depth perception and peripheral vision of 180 degrees, and no color deficiency.
