Our Operations Divisions, also referred to as Commonwealth Alternative Care and Standard Farms, are market leaders in the cultivation, processing, production, distribution, and sale of a wide variety of cannabis products. We currently operate two dispensaries in Taunton and Brockton, MA, and have a license to open one more in Cambridge, MA. In addition, through distribution arrangements we have placed our products and those of hundreds of strategic partners, into 50% of the dispensaries in MA and into 95% of the dispensaries in PA. We have a production and processing facility in Garfield Heights, Ohio.

The Human Resources Senior Manager will plan, manage, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Administer and oversee the payroll administration process in partnership with finance.
  • Administer and oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Oversee Workers Compensation claims and OSHA documentation on an annual basis. Analyze trends in incidents and reports out on progress.
  • Evaluate and update job descriptions as necessary; conduct annual salary surveys and assist in the development of salary budget; analyze compensation; monitor the performance evaluation program.
  • Monitor and develop a work environment that is perceived as fair, supportive, and positive.
  • Solicit regular and systematic feedback from employees while upholding confidentiality and employee anonymity when appropriate.
  • Assist with conflict resolution between employees.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures including on-boarding and exit procedures; maintain handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Support recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; employee relations counseling; conduct exit interviews.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five (5) years HR generalist experience.
  • Knowledge of DEI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
