Major/Essential Functions

Primary duty will be to teach graduate level courses and provide clinical supervision in an online setting for the Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program. Other duties will include advising students, curriculum development, and engaging in scholarly development.

Specific teaching assignments are dependent on department needs and individual expertise.
The ideal candidate should a) be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or eligible to become certified and b) be licensed or license eligible as either LPC License or equivalent state license within a year. May be considered for higher rank, dependent upon experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have experience and/or research and practice interest in providing counseling services to persons with disabilities, psychosocial/psychiatric rehabilitation, career counseling, services for veterans, or experience working in rural and underserved settings. Ability to teach clinical rehabilitation counseling and counseling courses. The ideal candidate should a) be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or eligible to become certified and b) be licensed as a professional counselor (LPC) or license eligible in Texas or the ability to transfer the license to Texas within a year.

Earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have related doctoral degrees and have been employed as full-time faculty members in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013. A record of professional or scholarly productivity is desirable. Preparation and experience in counselor education and supervision and/or in rehabilitation counseling. A.B.D. (All But Dissertation) will be considered if all courses are complete and candidate has reached the "defense" stage.
