Entry Level Shop Laborer - Turquoise Ridge

Position: Maintenance Shop Laborer
Level: Entry with high potential for advancement
Pay Rate: Competitive Hourly Wage (Depending on Experience) + safety and production bonus
Schedule: 7 on 7 off, 12-hour shifts. Rotating days and nights
Area: Golconda, Nevada – Turquoise Ridge Underground

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the site master mechanic, our shop laborers are tasked with safely and efficiently providing support to maintenance crews by preparing equipment to be serviced and keeping shop areas organized. Those responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Wash Bay – Inspecting and power washing equipment and tools
• Assisting bottom landers with deliveries and distributions of tools and parts
• Retrieving parts for mechanics
• Keeping shop areas clean and organized
• Assisting diesel mechanics with light repairs
• Trash/Waste removal and disposal
• Hazard recognition and mitigation
• Participation in risk assessments and following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Conducting thorough pre-operational inspections on equipment

Experience and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must:

• Work with a safety-first mind set and maintain situational awareness at all times.
• Be able to properly care for and maintain all tools and equipment.
• Possess exceptional workplace housekeeping habits.
• Have the ability to work independently.
• Have strong communication skills.
• Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and work in year-round weather conditions.

Beneficial Skills but not required:

• Operation experience of underground support equipment, e.g., skid steers, forklifts, manlifts and other equipment.
• Possess knowledge and understanding of underground (hard rock) mining.
• Hold a current MSHA Certificate (5000-23) in underground metal/non-metal mining. We will provide if needed.
