Position Summary

Slippery Rock University, a four-year, comprehensive university and leading member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, seeks a strategic, dynamic, and student-centric administrative professional to serve as its nextVice President Enrollment Management.

Reporting to the University President and serving as a member of cabinet, the Vice President Enrollment Management (VPEM) functions as the senior enrollment officer and supervises the directors of the units within the Division of Enrollment Management: First Year Recruitment and Admissions, Transfer Admissions and Orientation, Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Academic Records and Registration, and Career and Academic Progress.

TheVPEMprovides leadership and support for advancing the overall enrollment goals of the University and reflects the values of Slippery Rock University. TheVPEMleads the University's efforts to identify, recruit, and admit the optimal number and quality of traditional and non-traditional students for the University. TheVPEMworks collaboratively with University internal and external constituencies to develop a comprehensive marketing, recruitment, and admission plan and will ensure that enrollment management plan is consistent with the University strategic plan. TheVPEMis also responsible for retention initiatives as related to the work of the department of academic services.

TheVPEMprovides leadership for a progressive strategic enrollment management environment that is aligned with the institution's vision, mission, and goals and the Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education strategic goals and performance indicators.

Responsible for strategic leadership for institutional marketing (digital, broadcast, out-of-home, and major print), undergraduate first year and transfer recruitment and admissions, graduate recruitment and admissions, financial aid and scholarships, orientation, degree audit, academic advisement and planning resources, academic records and registration, and the department of academic services (FYRSTSeminar, Learning Community Clusters, Exploratory Advising, Tutoring, College Success Skills, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree or other advanced degree is required. A minimum of seven years (7) related experience in higher education including recruitment, budgetary and personnel responsibilities, strategic planning, and program development.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, management, and supervisory skills, including the ability to work effectively with leaders of other teams.

A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Expertise with data informed decision-making.

Knowledge of current and emerging enrollment management technologies related to marketing, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, orientation, academic records, degree audit, academic advising, registration, and/or retention.Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan.Successful performance in an on-campus interview and enrollment management presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree is preferred.

Experience with current best practices in the following areas: marketing, recruitment, admission processes, financial aid, scholarship awarding, orientation, academic advisement, academic records and registration, and academic support services.
