Asst/Assoc Professor of Pharmacy Practice (Population Health) 12-Mo-NTT
Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the Assistant/Associate Professor position in Pharmacy Practice (non-tenure track). This full-time, non-tenure track position is a 12-month appointment. The individual in this position will contribute to teaching, service, and scholarship, supporting the mission and vision of the McWhorter School of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The successful candidate must develop and maintain a meaningful and progressive clinical pharmacy practice site supporting the school’s population health outcomes advanced pharmacy practice experience. Teaching responsibilities include experiential instruction at the practice site and classroom and laboratory instruction regarding general topics, including managed care and population health. Additional responsibilities include scholarship, academic service, professional/community service, and other duties as assigned. This full-time appointment may begin as early as August 1, 2024.
Candidates must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy, at least one year of post-graduate residency training, eligibility for licensure in the state of Alabama, and obtain a pharmacist license within three months of employment. Preferred qualifications include a managed care residency, a relevant degree in population health, and/or related fellowship training. Academic rank and salary depend on qualifications and previous experience. To be considered for Associate Professor, applicants must have at least five years of teaching experience and a strong scholarship and service success record.
The successful individual must exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management and organization skills, and attention to detail. The candidate must also embrace the interprofessional teaching model of the College of Health Sciences and the student-centered teaching of the McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
The College of Health Sciences includes four schools: School of Health Professions, Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, McWhorter School of Pharmacy, and School of Public Health.
