Outside Sales Engineer- Portland, OR
Seeking an Engineer type with a sales personality!
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined person possessing outstanding communication skills. Duties include, but are not limited to, customer care on existing accounts, prospecting for new accounts, follow-up, closing orders.
- Visit local engineering firms to assist in specifying the correct machinery
- Make 4-6 sales calls a day and 3 cold calls a week.
- Follow production of equipment sold
- Interface daily with customers and co-workers
- Sell parts and service to support equipment sales
- Strong verbal communication skills are required
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience and aptitude is necessary
The ideal sales representative will possess a technical mind and sales personality! Also, have a track record of 3-5 years sales experience, preferably in machinery.
Candidate must be a self-starter, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently, like travel, and work well under pressure and handle rejection.
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, but not required. Applicants with two years of college/technical sales background are encouraged to apply.
Industrial machinery experience is desired, including background and knowledge of electrical and mechanical components. The qualified candidate will be able to display a professional business image, an outgoing personality and a positive attitude. Salary is dependent upon experience and background.
