Job Description

The Web Content & Media Specialist will provide website design, development, content, and maintenance support for the assigned websites. This position will work collaboratively with stakeholders to create effective web environments. Additionally, it will serve as a web liaison for Digital Learning units and assist with overall website monitoring, maintenance, and support.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Considerable knowledge and understanding of current authoring languages, editing, and authoring tools, and related website technologies, including content management systems such as Drupal, AEM, Joomla, Wordpess or Wix. Working knowledge of web standards, best practices, accessibility needs and user interface/experience design. Working knowledge of graphic design tools including, but not limited to, the Adobe Creative Suite. Working knowledge of communications, marketing, and branding principles. Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent written and oral communication, editing and proofreading skills. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures. Demonstrated ability to set and communicate deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work without supervision. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks with strong time management and organizational skills.

Level and type of experience

Considerable experience writing, managing and/or providing oversight for website content.

Prior experience in communications and marketing. Prior experience working with diverse internal and external constituents. Prior experience providing website oversight and maintenance.

Prior experience with structuring, developing, and implementing interactive Web sites.

Prior experience managing digital assets.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Prior experience managing website content in higher education. Prior experience managing web content using a CMS. Prior experiencing analyzing web traffic using tools such as Google Analytics.

Prior experience managing digital photography and other digital assets.

Considerable knowledge of metadata, particularly as related to digital photography and assets.

Considerable experience using Adobe Creative Suite. Considerable professional experience writing or creating original content for the Web. Working knowledge of Internet programming languages, including, but not limited to, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP.

Conditions of Employment

This role offers a fully remote schedule. Working traditional 40 hour work week.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate

Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 54,418
