Telemarketing Representative

Ogden Newspapers is hiring a Regional Telemarketing Representative to join our inside sales team. The successful candidate will be comfortable speaking on the phone with several people each day to discuss advertising opportunities. We’re looking for an upbeat, motivated professional who gets inspired by the idea of commission checks.

Responsibilities: > Identify prospects using other publications, the internet, our internal system, etc. > Call prospective customers in order to persuade potential customers to purchase an ad. > Sell advertising for special sections and pages. > Perform customized target sales strategies. > Respond to correspondence from customers or to follow up initial sales contacts. > Maintain record of calls, i.e. company name, phone number, name of decision maker, email address, etc. > Schedule, order design and proof ads sold. > Schedule appointments for sales representatives to meet with prospective customers for additional services to assist in building their brand. > Communicate respectfully and politely with potential customers at all time. > Answer calls and emails for classified ads and obituaries to be placed in The Frederick News-Post. > Assist customers that walk-in to the building with their ads and obituaries. > Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. > Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. > Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Telemarketer Skills and Qualifications: Self-motivated, Results Driven, Persistence, Adaptability, Initiative, Time Management, Customer Service, Selling to Customer Needs, Prospecting Skills, Motivation for Sales, Handles Rejection, Professionalism, Product Knowledge High school diploma/GED required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales (lead generation preferred) 2+ years’ experience telemarketing a plus Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories. Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people. Excellent verbal communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry. Ability to type minimum 40 WPM (words per minute). Persuasive and goal-oriented Possesses an energetic, professional, and friendly demeanor. Able to work accurately under stress and pressure to meet competing deadlines. Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching next potential customer.
