Music Teacher Montessori School of Syracuse seeks a part time Music Teacher to work with elementary students from grades 1-6, to promote a love of music and guide students in learning to play an instrument, read music, and play in an ensemble, while acquiring an appreciation for a wide variety of music styles. Classes take place in the Music Cottage, which includes a piano and Orff percussion, ukuleles, recorders, and African Djembe drums. Three performances take place in the Great Room during the school year: Peace Celebration, Cultural Festival and Spring Recital. This part-time (around 12-3:00 daily; 3 days per week) position's compensation depends on experience, education, the interests of the candidate, and total hours worked, and can start at $35 per hour. It can include the choice of offering individual piano lessons after school hours for additional income. There is freedom to develop curriculum and follow the children's interests.
