  • The School of Education and Human Services at Molloy University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Special Education to begin in the 2024-2025 academic year.

    Molloy University, an independent Catholic institution based in Rockville Centre, NY, was founded in 1955. The University serves a student population of approximately 4,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Molloy students can earn degrees in a variety of outstanding academic programs, including nursing, business, education, social work, music therapy and many more.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to design and deliver high quality courses for students with diverse learning needs
    • Teach and facilitate learning activities in a blended learning environment
    • Teach and advise students in their program progression
    • Keep current in theory and practice related to program content
    • Attend all School and University faculty meetings, serve on Program, School and University-wide committees, and participate in accreditation activities
    • Engage in active research projects with colleague and teacher candidates
    • Participate in outreach projects with partnership districts
    Minimum Required Qualifications:
    • Ed.D. or Ph.D. Education with a concentration in Special Education
    • A depth and breadth of knowledge of teaching students with diverse needs
    • Evidence of research and scholarly publication
    • Evidence of successfully using technology to teach undergraduate and graduate online/blended courses for a minimum of two years
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Excellent communication skills with both faculty and teacher candidates
    • Evidence of knowledge, skills, and expertise in Special Education
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
    Salary Information:

    When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
