Job Summary/Basic Function

Work performed in a variety of skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and other related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision and reports to the Assistant Director, Housing Facilities.

Knowledge:
- Methods, materials, and procedures used in general repair and maintenance work.
- Occupational hazards, safety precautions, and OSHA standards.
- Machines, tools, and equipment used in a variety of tasks as required.

Abilities:
- To follow oral and written instructions.
- To use, clean, repair, and maintain equipment, tools, and machinery required in accomplishing tasks.
- To evaluate situations and make decisions.
- To establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the students, public, and other employees.
- To maintain an open line of communication with students, public, and other employees.
- To work independently when needed.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Required Related Experience

One (1) year of maintenance experience in building and/or plant maintenance involving a variety of work such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and masonry required or completion of a standard apprenticeship in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical required.
