Job Summary/Basic Function

Serve as Executive Assistant to the Graduate Program Directors and Scheduling Coordinator. Provide clerical and technical assistance to the Psychology Department faculty and adjuncts. Serve as liaison to the College of Graduate Studies, prospective and current graduate students, and Graduate Assistants. Compose or prepare correspondence; maintain graduate program documentation, provide website updates, oversee process of preparing and administering comprehensive exams, assist Graduate Programs Coordinator with the hiring process of graduate assistants (GAs), serve as a liaison between prospective/current graduate assistants and Graduate Program Directors by maintaining files, and preparing spreadsheets and hiring paperwork. Assist Scheduling Coordinator with establishing teaching schedules for summer, fall, and spring semesters. Provide general administrative support for the department such as: answer telephone, greet and assist visitors and students; maintain confidential files and databases; generate database reports, create/maintain multiple spreadsheets/databases for various tasks and reports, maintain departmental list servs, retrieve student transcripts, Serve as the department's Records Management Coordinator. Provide back-up assistance during absences of Chairperson's Administrative Associate and perform other related tasks as assigned.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Required Related Experience

Three years progressively responsible secretarial office experience. Note: An Associate degree (two years of college coursework) and one year related experience may be considered in lieu of work experience.

Desirable Related Experience

Associate degree preferred
Able to type min 50 wpm

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

CAP/CPS preferred
