Salary Range: $30.29-45.98
Starting salary is determined based upon factors that may include: years of relevant experience, education, applicable certifications/licensure, and internal equity.
Basic Job Function and Responsibilities
Oversee, plan, and design the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Ensure the optimal operation of the physical components of facility. Promotes the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.
Job Duties
- Responsible for the integrity of information in WEBs the Building Automation System program for building infrastructure management.
- Conduct facility inspections to ensure safe environmental conditions.
- Responsible for the integrity of information in AIMs the Computerized Maintenance Management System program for work order management.
- Works with Mechanics and clinical staff to ensure communication and resolution of issues impacting patient care.
- Coordinate activities with internal and external groups and individuals to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation regarding issues with: data collection, reporting and training for the same.
- Serves on special projects and committees as assigned.
- Proactively monitors performance indicators from regulatory and accreditation agencies (i.e. CMS, TJC, NFPA and others as applicable) and assess compliance for the organization.
- Consults with department directors and managers to resolve issues involving data collection, reporting and equipment/building systems.
- Facilitates small projects and acts as a liaison between teams and departments to ensure members are aligned with hospital objectives, timelines and eliminate duplication of work.
- Coordinates development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations in the Engineering department. Works with staff to document changes in regulations and operating procedures.
- Assists Engineering department regarding complaints and requests for service and follows up in a timely manner.
- Audits 100% of the reports generated by Mercy Engineering and Outside Vendors required for Joint Commission/CMS accreditation. These reports may happen on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual or annual basis.
- Support Mercy representatives regarding Environment of Care, Life Safety Code and Emergency Management documentation during TJC tri-annual survey.
- Demonstrates knowledge in team building, facilitation, conflict resolution principles and practice.
- Maintain TJC Statement of Conditions.
- Manage compliance with Life Safety Code/SOC.
- Oversee operation of building and utility systems (HVAC, electrical, med gas, plumbing, water, fire alarm etc.) and maintenance programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field - Required.
- Experience in facilities maintenance, systems, and utilities minimum of 2 years - Required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, maintain detailed and accurate records, and prepare clear and concise written reports - Required.
- Ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to the solution of equipment, buildings, and infrastructure - Required.
- Vendor management experience - Required.
- Familiarity with regulations and building codes - Required.

Salary: $30.29 - 45.98 hourly
