Dean - Student Development & Director of Advising & Testing
Gaston College is seeking to fill the following positions:
Dean - Student Development - The Dean-Student Development leads and assists in providing programs and services designed to enhance students' academic and personal success. This position assists students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as members of the College community and serves as the primary contact for non-academic student complaints beyond the director/coordinator level. Under the guidance of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, implements the College's student code of conduct. This position also coordinates compliance activities related to Title IV consumer disclosures, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Clery Act, and the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA), and Title IV. The Dean-Student Development reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in higher education, educational leadership, student personnel, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university required.
Director - Advising & Testing - Provides leadership, management, supervision, and evaluation for advising and testing services. Services include advising for new students and pre-health majors, transfer students, returning students, and supervising the Katherine Harper Testing Center. Works with campus partners and academic departments to provide advising services for students. Responsible for maintaining and updating New Student Orientation. Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in counseling, higher education, or closely related field required. MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in counseling, higher education, or closely related field required; Coursework or training in administration, management, or supervision preferred.
