The purpose of this class is to provide leadership and oversee planning, direction, control and evaluation of all work associated with the day-to-day operation of the College's Systems Engineering team and server environments.

Bachelor's degree required, degree in networking technology or information technology management preferred. Five (5) years of experience managing an enterprise networking environment required. Experience with enterprise operating systems and hypervisors in an enterprise, multilocation environment required. Experience working with higher education computer services departments and project management certifications preferred.

  1. Provide direct supervision and evaluation to the Systems Engineering staff.
  2. Plan and evaluate for the completion of scheduled projects and tasks.
  3. Develop the execution of strategic priorities and operational objectives.
  4. Collaborate and coordinate with institutional users to understand their needs and business requirements.
  5. Resolve problems related to IT systems
  6. Establish goals and objectives for systems operations consistent with CCBC's mission, vision and values.

  1. Provide leadership for the analysis of the college's server environment and/or associated projects.
  2. Implement and reinforce industry best practices amongst staff such as ITIL.
  3. Provide administration, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting for servers, Windows and Linux operating systems and VMware virtual environments at multiple locations.
  4. Maintain project plans and task lists within the college's workload management system TeamDynamix.
  5. Provide and promote professional development of staff, daily management and conduct performance appraisals.
  6. Planning and prioritizing staff assignment to achieve high operational and organizational performance and efficiencies.
  7. Monitor, assist and follow up Help Desk tickets relating to the college's server environment.
  8. Oversee, coordinate, and maintain, firmware and configuration of server hardware.
  9. Manage and evaluate the enterprise server environment, recommend future enhancements to reduce points of failure within the system and problem resolution timeframes.
  10. Enhance customer relationships by investigating user problems and needs; identify their source and determine possible solutions.
