Job Description

The Data Manager position is responsible for providing data to clients of NV Grow stakeholder groups, analyzing data, and applying and reporting metrics using federal, state, and institutional requirements for various grant projects and funding. The Data Manager will also serve as the geographic information system (GIS) specialist for the NV Grow Program. This position requires training in GIS at the Nevada Small Business Development Center in Washoe County. The Data Manager will provide project sustainability by collecting data from multiple sources, including Lightcast, Esri software, and Neoserra CRM.

The Data Manager must work closely with the SBED Interim Director and NV Grow Counselors to efficiently provide data to clients of NV Grow stakeholder groups in a timely manner. This requires the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and to be flexible with work schedule based on workload demands. The Data Manager must also be able to explain GIS data to people with different levels of knowledge. Position requires excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and experience in using GIS, spreadsheets, and database software. Experience with market analyses, site selection analyses, economic impacts, geocoding, feasibility studies, and business planning is preferred. Two years of GIS or related experience is required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, business, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college/university; OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 4 years of related experience.
  • 2 years of GIS or related experience.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional requirements for grant projects and funding.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Geography with a concentration in GIS, or a related field rom an accredited college/university OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in identifying problems, creating innovative solutions, and managing projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Salary information:

Administrative Faculty D - The starting salary is $75,564.00.

This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding, funded through 6/30/2025.
