Public Works Administrative Technician

PUBLIC WORKS ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN
The City of Marion is accepting applications for a Public Works Administrative Technician. This position performs complex administrative and engineering work assisting the Public Works Director in the planning, organizing,
operation, and directing of a variety of public works and public utilities services including street maintenance, fleet maintenance, sanitation, water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution, and wastewater collection.
General duties include reviewing plans and drawings for compliance with City specifications, generating various reports and records, managing a wide variety of assigned construction and repair projects, interpreting and analyzing statistical and operational data, performing research, maintaining large filing systems, contract management, and administering a wide range of policies, procedures, and practices. Minimum qualifications include graduation from college with an associate's degree in engineering technology or a related field; completion of advanced vocational courses pertaining to municipal public works or public utilities administration; considerable experience in a responsible position in public works or public utilities administration with experience managing projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license is required.
Hiring Salary Range $38,000 - $46,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
