Director of Annual Giving
The Director of Annual Giving is a full-time position responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive, year-round fundraising plan for The Cavalier Fund, the annual giving program at Christ Church Episcopal School. The fundraising plan will include goals, strategies, and programming that aim to build and engage our donor base. This person will also work to ensure effective administration of annual fund gifts through acknowledgment letters, recognition of donors in the Annual Report, and the delivery of any necessary reports and communications, such as pledge reminders, to appropriate constituents. Through personal visits, this individual will identify, cultivate, and steward meaningful relationships with established and potential donors, seeking and securing gifts for the Annual Fund, as well as identifying potential campaign and planned giving prospects.
In addition, this position works in conjunction with the Assistant Head for Advancement (AHA) on major giving initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create a comprehensive, year-round plan for the Cavalier Fund and other annual giving that includes strategy, messaging and a financial budget to achieve both an immediate yearly goal and a future five-year goal, averaging 5% or better growth annually.
- Implement planned Annual Giving program to cultivate and solicit all members of the CCES community-including current and former parents, alumni, trustees, grandparents, faculty and staff, and friends - through a vibrant staff driven-volunteer engaged program.
- Set dollar, participation, and qualitative goals for the annual giving program.
- Create and implement strategies to achieve Annual Fund goals.
- Create and manage a multidimensional appeal schedule that utilizes a variety of mediums (e.g., electronic solicitation, direct mail appeals, face-to-face solicitations) to communicate with potential and current donors.
- Work with the AHA to recruit, train, and manage volunteers-The Cavalier Fund Campaign Chair(s), leadership chairs, and additional volunteer solicitors.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and maintain relationships with donors and volunteers through personal meetings on and off-campus, minimum 3 face-to-face visits weekly.
- Responsible for a portfolio of 75 key donors of $500 or more beyond the Annual Fund donors.
- Work closely with the SMAC team to plan and manage all communications and marketing endeavors for The Cavalier Fund.
- Collaborate with the Gift Entry and Donor Records Specialist and Database Manager to use Raiser's Edge software to manage and execute all aspects of The Cavalier Fund including gift acknowledgment procedures.
- Work with the Director of Alumni Relations to coordinate and promote the alumni and alumni parents' portion of the campaign.
- Oversee the development and coordination of the stewardship process in recognizing our annual donors at all levels.
- Maintain, evaluate, and gain approval for the Annual Giving budget within the overall Development Department budget.
- Work with the AHA and Database Manager to identify and solicit foundations and individuals for major gifts with a target of a minimum of 3 new gifts of $5,000 or more secured beyond the Cavalier Fund annually.
- Responsible for preparing weekly, monthly, and other relevant Annual Fund reports including ROI on annual giving related projects and processes.
- Work collaboratively with database manager to reconcile bi-monthly reports, develop custom reports, and add appeal codes to Raiser's Edge.
- Provide regular annual giving program updates for the Board of Trustees, CCES administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward assigned pool of managed prospects and meet travel expectations of 8-10 visits per month.
- Utilize Raiser's Edge to track visits, produce contact notes, and conduct appropriate constituent follow-up within two weeks.
- Work collaboratively with members of the Advancement Office to coordinate appropriate Annual Fund solicitations, including strategy and stewardship of donors and prospects.
- Work with SMAC Office to create appeals and marketing materials, as well as to maintain an annual giving section on the School's website.
Development Office Team Member
- Serve as customer service liaison to all School constituents. Proactively assist the community.
- Attend on-campus and off-campus events, as necessary. (Some evening and weekends required.)
