Head of Design Position

Head of Design Position available in New Haven, CT. Direct development of design proposals, shop drawings, design presentations, support the design approvals process, and coordinate with customers, fabrication partners, and experts for annual furniture product lines using design tools such as Cad, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Vray and Enscape (45%). Oversee and train junior designers in the design of custom furniture products and collections for commercial use (15%). Perform project management on custom projects by liaising between the client, architects and fabricators to ensure the product is built and delivered on time and within budget (10%). Help determine annual sales goals, foster existing customer relationships, and perform outreach to generate new sales leads (20%). Create marketing materials including portfolios and spec books for both custom projects and annual collections (10%). May telecommute up to 60% of time. Must be willing to report to the office as needed.
